Asansol Home is a shelter for destitute girls and boys. Currently, it operates only for girls, with 23 residents aged between 7 and 16. Among them, 13 attend government schools outside the premises, commuting by bicycle to the bus stop before taking a bus to school. The remaining girls study within the home, which provides education in both Hindi and Bengali for primary and secondary levels.
The facility is managed by a team of eight staff members, including a superintendent, caregivers, teachers, and security personnel. The home consists of multiple buildings, including a dormitory for girls, school and dining areas, accommodations for boys, and spaces for guests and volunteers.
Initially closed during the Covid period and later due to government regulations, Asansol Home reopened in October 2024 after the Puja vacations.
