Children
We shelter the children in Rehabilitation Home to keep them away from the dangers of the slums and the tea garden.
School children
We offer formal school to poor children and non formal school to dropped out children to help them get back in the system. We offer also special school for handicapped children.
Young mothers
Our teams visit regularly young women in the slums to monitor their pregnancy and follow up the growth of the new born child for three years.
Families helped
One child helped and it is the whole family who get support, meaning ' or 5 time more people. Here in India, the family is still at the heart of the society with a strong solidarity between the members.
Staff
Most of our staff come from a very poor background. In a certain way the poor are helping the poor. With a salary they are able to fight the circle of poverty and educate their children.
Families visited
Since last year, we have started a huge survey in the slums of Howrah. We visit the families in order to reach out to the poorest. We offer them a shelter, education for their children. Awareness and support for their daily life.
Rehabilitation Homes
Our 9 Homes are the core of our work. It is there that we take care of hundred of children from KG to the college if possible, transforming the threats of the slums into a new and bright future.
Schools
Our schools are of three types: Formal schools for the poor children. Non formal schools for dropped out children to help them get back in the mainstream education system. Special schools for differently abled children.
