Return of children to our Howrah Homes

In Howrah, the children did not spend the lockdown due to Covid-19 in our Homes. They came back to their families (since March/April).

At the end of September 2020, the children started to come back in our Homes. In order to follow the Covid Protocol, our children spent 14 days in quarantine: separated house, proper sanitization, all their belongings were cleaned, and we used musk. We checked the body temperature every day. We provide them with a nutritional Diet. We were careful by keeping safe distance during the day and in the night time for sleeping.

Now, our children are in good health. The children started to come back slowly (3 phases) in our four Homes in Howrah. Now there are 84 (Baksara 20, EPN 25, Ashaneer 18, Lalkuthi 21). It is a difficult period for our children who can’t meet outsiders so we tried to keep the good mood and smile with a lot of activities (study, gardening, singing…).

We celebrated different festivals: Bhai Phota which means the sister is praying for long life of Brother in Ashaneer Home, Durga Puja (Ashaneer Homes went to see Durga Puja pandal in local area), Diwali and Children’s day). On Children’s day, Baksara and Ashaneer girls enjoyed games together and the girls of Lalkuthi enjoyed snacks given by one well-wisher. Our girls in Ashaneer were very happy with new Puja dress donated by one well-wisher.

We are happy to have our children back in our Home, a place where they can be safe and grow well !
