This first half-year will be marked by the renovation of the boys hostels at Baksara. Over the last few years, the dormitories and living areas have fallen into disrepair, necessitating a major renovation and a more appropriate layout.
The thirty-five boys (from class V to class X) who live in this boarding school throughout the year are the first to be affected by this deterioration, which can be explained both by the wear and tear of the materials over time and by the climatic conditions of northern India. As can be seen above, the walls are deteriorating badly, with large black marks, crumbling paint and even holes inside the houses. The wall of dormitory number 1 is not sufficiently protected by the tin roof, which means that water runs directly down the face of the walls when it rains.
The wooden ceilings and doors are damaged, making the houses vulnerable to heavy rain/heat and ultimately difficult to live in because of a total lack of insulation and waterproofing.
In addition, the floor is in great need of restoration, as it is moldy in some places, and the shower/sanitary area is in need of renovation. The drainage system is inadequate and runs into the neighboring field, posing a hygiene problem. The shower area is not well insulated from the rest of the dwellings, which means that the children do not have enough privacy.
All in all, the general deterioration of these homes is striking and can also pose an admission problem. Children must be able to live in an environment that is more suitable for their development and studies, in living conditions that do not represent an obstacle or difficulty for them.

"The children in Baksara Homes benefit from shelter, food, education, medical care, leisure activities, etc. Being the beneficiaries of Baksara Homes makes the children very happy. They are even happier when they learn that renovation work is about to begin. The home has two dormitories where the children sleep and study. They use the dormitories for a variety of purposes. But the current conditions in the dormitories are not good. They want them to be brighter, healthier and more welcoming after the renovation. They've seen the poor conditions of the dormitories, but a few months down the line they'll be witness to two beautiful new dormitories, we hope. They are very grateful to our valued donors, to everyone who wishes them well and to the people who act as a bridge between donors and Howrah South Point. "

" The Baksara homes are very important to HSP, and we really have to look after the infrastructure, as it is directly linked to the safety, comfort and resting place of our children. Last year, I completed the renovation work on the Lalkuthi home and I hope that this year I will be able to complete the renovation work on the Baksara home again. From the start of the work until the end, I regularly visit the home and supervise all the construction work, including concreting, masonry, plumbing, sanitary facilities, electricity and painting. Based on the work proposal and the condition of the building, I started the work and also supervised all the building elements with great care. I'm proud to be part of this Nobel work. I wish HSP every success in every sector. "
CONCLUSION :
We would like to announce that the HSP Board has decided to launch renovation work on the home. The work is scheduled to start around June and will take several months to complete. During the work, the boys will be staying in the Baksara school. It's thanks to you that this project has come to life! All the boys are delighted that the work is starting and can't wait to see their renovated and improved home.

Ce premier semestre va être marqué par la rénovation du foyer des garçons à Baksara. Ces dernières années les dortoirs et l'espace de vie se sont très fortement dégradés que ce soit à cause de l'usure des matériaux ou à cause des conditions climatiques du nord de l'Inde et des travaux sont vraiment nécessaires.
Les trente-cinq garçons (de la classe V à la classe X) qui vivent dans cet internat tout au long de l'année sont les premiers touchés par ces dégradations. Comme on peut le voir sur les photos, les murs sont en très mauvais état : traces noires, humidité, trous et peinture qui s'effrite. Le mur du dortoir numéro 1 par exemple, n'est pas suffisamment protégé par le toit en tôle et l'eau s'écoule directement sur les murs lorsqu'il pleut.
Les plafonds, les sols et les portes en bois sont aussi endommagés, moisis par endroits ce qui rend les bâtiments insalubres et surtout très vulnérables en cas de fortes pluies ou de fortes chaleurs. Il n’y a aucune isolation ni étanchéité pourtant essentielles avec le climat indien.
L’espace douche/sanitaire doit aussi faire l’objet de travaux importants : le système d'évacuation des eaux usées est insuffisant et se déverse dans le champ voisin, ce qui pose un vrai problème d'hygiène. Aussi, l'espace douche est actuellement très mal isolé du reste des habitations ce qui n’offre pas assez d’intimité aux enfants.
La dégradation générale de ces logements est frappante et nous ne pouvions attendre davantage pour les rénover, cela peut poser des problèmes d'admissions. Les enfants doivent pouvoir vivre dans un environnement sain et sécurisé et dans des conditions de vie propices à leur développement, leur épanouissement et leur bien-être.

“Les enfants des foyers de Baksara bénéficient d’un logement, d'une éducation, de soins médicaux, de loisirs, etc. Le fait d'être les bénéficiaires de « Baksara Homes » rend les enfants très heureux. Ils sont encore plus heureux lorsqu'ils apprennent que les travaux de rénovation vont bientôt commencer. Le foyer dispose de deux dortoirs où les enfants dorment, mangent et étudient : ils utilisent les dortoirs pour plusieurs activités différentes. Mais les conditions actuelles des dortoirs ne sont pas bonnes. Ils souhaitent qu'ils soient plus lumineux, plus sains et plus accueillants après la rénovation. Ils ont vu les mauvaises conditions des dortoirs, mais quelques mois plus tard, ils seront les témoins d'une belle auberge. Ils sont très reconnaissants à nos précieux donateurs, à tous ceux qui souhaitent les aider et à tous ceux qui jouent le rôle de pont entre les donateurs et Howrah South Point."

“Les foyers Baksara sont des foyers très importants pour HSP, nous devons vraiment nous préoccuper de l'infrastructure car elle est directement liée à la sécurité, au confort et au repos de nos enfants. L'année dernière, j'ai terminé les travaux de rénovation du foyer Lalkuthi et j'espère que cette année, je pourrai à nouveau terminer les travaux de rénovation du foyer Baksara. Depuis le début des travaux et jusqu'à la fin, je visite régulièrement le foyer et supervise tous les travaux de construction comme le bétonnage, la maçonnerie, la plomberie, les sanitaires, l'électricité et la peinture. En fonction de la proposition de travail et de l'état du bâtiment, j'engage les travaux, supervise tous les éléments de construction avec beaucoup d'attention. Je suis fier de faire partie de cette rénovation si importante. Je souhaite à HSP de réussir dans tous les secteurs. "
CONCLUSION :
C'est ainsi que nous vous annonçons que le conseil d'administration de HSP a décidé de lancer les travaux de rénovation de ce foyer. Ils doivent commencer autour du mois de juin pour plusieurs mois de travaux. Pendant la durée des travaux, les garçons seront logés dans l’école de Baksara. C'est grâce à vous que ce projet a pu voir le jour ! Merci !
