On the 26th of January, all Howrah South Point homes celebrated the Republic Day of India.
India Republic day consists of hoisting the flag early in the morning, in order to celebrate independent republic, established in January 26, 1950. That day, the Indian Constitution came into effect. January 26 was chosen because in 1930, the Indian National Congress revealed Purna Swaraj, the declaration of India's independence from the colonial rule.
For the event, HSP thus hoisted the Indian flag in all homes. After that, all children performed shows with dances and plays. They wore beautiful outfits and we shared great meals with chicken and chutney, all together. As usual, we spend the afternoon playing games and enjoying leisure time.
